Homework 3: The Code Talker Paradox
In the opening chapters of The Atoms of Language, Mark Baker introduces
what he refers to as the 'Code Talker Paradox', and presents an outline
of a solution to the paradox.
What is the Code Talker Paradox? How does Baker suggest that we can solve
the paradox? Explain in your own
words, providing justification where relevant.
Relevant sections of Baker's book are pp.1-19, 34-51, and 52-57.
Writing Note: You should be sure to write your answer clearly. Re-read
what you
have written - if you do not think that your explanation would be clear
to an intelligent non-expert reader, then
it is not clear enough, and you should edit your draft.
