Research

My early research focused broadly on questions surrounding inequality, paying particular attention to how society creates categories and sorts people into them, and examining the consequences of these categorization processes. Much of my recent work considers how educational processes create categories and seeks to understand the implications of educational categories for inequality in education and beyond.

My work often draws on administrative records, and I am passionate about working in research-practitioner partnerships to build administrative data infrastructure that allows us to address important policy-relevant questions.
