Research

My research focuses broadly on questions surrounding inequality, paying particular attention to how society creates categories and sorts people into them, and the consequences of these categorization processes. Much of my recent work considers how educational processes create categories, and seeks to understand the implications of educational categories for inequality in education and beyond.

Throughout my work I often draw on administrative records, and I am passionate about working in research-practitioner partnerships to build administrative data infrastructure that allows us to address important policy-relevant questions.
