Problem Statement

Resolving issues of crime and disorder in Cincinnati is hampered by poor police-community relations, particularly in the African American community.

Vision

Cincinnati’s police and communities are working collaboratively to provide effective long-term solutions to persistent crime and nuisance behavior problems. This partnership engages and employs all the assets within the community to address problems at the root cause, solidifying a police-community union that will endure over time. There is a climate of trust and mutual respect between police and the community built on fair treatment, equal justice and a demonstrated ability to solve problems by working together.

Mission

The Community Police Partnering Center will develop strategies to reduce crime and disorder while facilitating positive engagement and increased trust between the police and neighborhoods. This mission will be accomplished primarily by partnering with the parties to the Collaborative Agreement on Police Community Relations to successfully implement community problem oriented policing throughout the City, including connecting those involved in neighborhood problems to appropriate resources.

Adopted by the Board of Directors: October 7, 2003
