This course focuses on research literature related to computational cognitive models of language acquisition. Students develop their skills in reading and synthesizing research in this area, including discussion of key concepts and background assumptions, clear presentation of major points and findings, and concise summarization of literature from a particular perspective.

After completing this course, successful students will be able to do the following:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of computational cognitive models of language acquisition
  • Succinctly and coherently discuss research in this area.
  • Summarize research literature with a specific goal in mind.
